Known discrepancies between sources
- Date Ms Moselakgomo was found: The Citizen (quoting SAPS), The Witness and Daily Maverick say Saturday 12 September; IOL's 15 September recap says 13 September. This site uses 12 September.
- Which hotel: The Witness says "behind the Protea Hotel"; Daily Maverick says York Street "near the Southern Sun OR Tambo". Both hotels are in the same Rhodesfield block; the street is the reliable part.
- The fifth body: BNO News' 14 September report describes the fifth discovery as Ms Moselakgomo; every South African outlet places the fifth body at Olifantsfontein on Monday 14 September. Treated as a BNO error.
- Body count: Seven in the police count since the afternoon of 15 September, when the Clayville discovery of 7 September was added. Reports from earlier that day say six. SAPS has not said which of the deaths are linked; this site uses the police count.
