The case at a glance
Where the investigation stands: Active SAPS investigation. Police have not said which of the deaths are linked; SAPS says it is 'still not yet there' on whether one person or a group is responsible, and has asked for patience while DNA and post-mortem work is done. One person is in custody for the July death.
